Why I Wrote This Book
Theodore is back by popular demand! Yes, our young friend is alive and kicking, and he has been hard at work this last year.
There’s something about stories that makes them great for teaching. In my homilies, I’m always using Scripture and trying to draw out a lesson for the children. Theodore and his adventures make these lessons much more real. He teaches us how important it is to find good friends, to not be selfish, to be faithful, and much, much more.
While I often forget what has happened to Theodore, the kids haven’t. They were the ones who came to me and convinced me to write a book. They remembered his stories and filled in all the blanks in my memory so we could put this together for you.
Many of these stories were told in homilies to the children of Royalmont Academy. One was a Christmas special. And one appears here for the first time it’s ever been told.
What makes this book, “The Return of Theodore” extra special, are the drawings made by the students of Royalmont. If this is what they can come up with in a matter of minutes, at six or seven or eight years of age, it will be fascinating to see what the future holds in store for them! Enjoy!
